Today was 85 miles, when we departed Prestwick we were met by 4 MDP officers from Clyde Marine unit, they navigated us around the back roads and gave tired legs a boost.
Their knowledge of Glasgow was invaluable and they took us to all the lovely places Barr head and Pollock, I'm surprised I still have a bike.
We got out of Sunny Glasgow and headed for the Erskine Bridge, Impressive sight ! We headed up the A82 to Crianlarich like a bat out of hell and motored along, until we were met by JB from Tayside, then we seemed to get faster on a cracking downhill leg.
We used the guys local knowledge again and ended up on a cycle track with lots of ups and downs and it then got faster,we were next to Loch Lomond belting around the little paths with, it was more like a mountain bike track but the natives cracked on with confidence, until steff got a puncture, oh and boy did we know about that !
IIestyn is back after being forced of the road after 22 miles with deli belly yesterday, and is grinding away, we had to stop so he could dispatch unwanted friends at the side of the A82 and with no hesitation roger picked up a camera and decided to record this for the books, I dont think it went down well but we all laughed!!
Blackie pulled up on a narrow part of the A82 a set of traffic lights in the middle of nowhere and decided he will relieve himself due to the amount of mad man juice he had been drinking, Now at this point in my honest held belief I thought the lights had changed to green and shouted we are off, for the last 5 miles he had to complete the ride with wet shorts ! Tim has offered to apply the sudo cream !
Pete Hurry and Brain Wellburn are still like a wasps possessed on the hills and Tim and Blackie are not far behind, Im tail end Charlie at the mo but I'm using all methods of getting air into my body !
JB continued to keep a good pace all the way to the Best Western in Crianlarich to the point that when we got to the bottom of the hill I could see glowing rims and break pads !
A big big thank you to the forces that tipped up to help us along it was much appreciated !
2 days to push and its going well, a few injuries appearing but a bottle of man up pills have been distributed !
Next stop Inverness 100 miles of beautiful Scottish country side !
